OK first things first, I spoke with Bill about the ramp and those pictures I showed in the last post are not going to be viable options...the ramp gradient needs to be a lot less steep (i.e. 20 meters for the 5 steps) and there just isn't enough wood or space to make it feasible, even round the back where there is less steps.
Seeing as Louise only wants a temporary solution, I think that me and someone else will just have to lift up the chair with the person in it (stairs at the back), which should be alright and has been done before without problems at Ian's Wedding.
Alright onto the garden, over the last few days I cleaned up all the weeds into some garbage bags and put them out this morning (was up at 6am!) for the council to collect, pretty tiring but necessary work...any worms I found in the heap got thrown back into the patches (getting green fingers!)

Me and Bill went to Bunning's and bought a bunch of plants on Thursday, it's actually pretty exciting looking at all the plants, reading the labels to see how each one grows and then deciding on which ones to have in the garden (I know getting excited about this makes me very sad).
Total cost for all the plants was just under $40 (bargain!)
Here's a list of what was bought:

The item in the bottom left is a butterfly poison dust to protect the plants when they grow a bit.
Bill showed me how to plant before heading off to plant his own stuff. Here's the process:
There is still some space left between the potatoes, these are reserved for beans that will be planted next week...going to plant some runners beans between the silver beets and the gate then also, then they can use the gate to intertwine and grow upwards.
The potatoes will need another layer of dirt in the next few days when they start reaching the surface.
Apparently if the potatoes grow above the surface, they go green and are poisonous! Don't want to poison Louise just yet...not until I've been written into her will! Haha just messin'!!! :)
Although I should take this opportunity to say thanks to Louise for the lift this morning and for her wonderful hospitality since I've been living at Argus Street :)
Back to the garden, here's what the patches look like now:
2x Pumpkins, 2x Butternut Squashes and 2x Cabbages
Kale x2 (Bill gave me these, thanks Bill):
I'm already excited to eat the strawberries.
Between the potatoes there is 2x Chilli and 2x Peppers (Capsicum)
and 6x Tomatoes
Had to dig up an extra patch for the tomatoes (bought a container of), so it goes around the corner of the wood shed now.
We also bought a replacement tap as the one in the garden doesn't screw very well at all, unfortunately the process to fixing the new tap isn't much fun.
I had to keep turning on and off the Toby (water mains) which first meant digging out all the dirt to the valve in the front garden with my bear (*Grylls*) hands, then while we were out buying the tap it rained, so when turning the valve on and off again to put the new tap on I had to just plunge my hand into a puddle of dirt and water.
Here's a pic (you can't see the valve as it's at the bottom of the puddle):
Ewwwwwwwwwwww!
Sticking my hand down there and turning the valve was like doing something out of a horror movie.
New tap though and works like a charm (thanks Bill!)
The plan for tomorrow is to mow the lawn subject to the weather and what time I get back to Rotorua, I went to the local petrol station and filled up the petrol tank already, just need to get mowing...Louise showed me how to use the lawn mower as there is a very complicated process for starting it up, which I can't even remember as it was so complicated (lol)...something like spin round 3 times and pluck like a chicken
After that I'm thinking about starting on the flower patch to the left of the back door and pathways in the garden while I just maintaining the current patches with weeding n stuff, (can get quite a lot done in an hour a day), or to look into options for the security light.
The updates on the blog I've had to do with a couple of days gap between, as I haven't been online much...at Arj's at the moment in Papamoa, we went TKD today and done sparring was loads of fun, going to do some indoor climbing tomorrow - I really like climbing, hopefully will be able to do it outdoors in the future.
Here's 2 other interesting (at least interesting to me) pictures, the first is the fruit in the garden chopped in half...supposedly half lemon and half manderin - any suggests as a name for it or where it could be used? It tastes alright, like a bitter sweet manderin.

The second is a coffee grinder that Bill shipped over, been making coffee by grinding beans; they smell and taste so good! Lengthy process, worth it though :)

That's all for now
Ideas to Pursue:
Security light outside wood shed
Stars to bottom level of garden (currently only middle level)
Repair fences / gates
Shed next to PAB?
Build maze (lol!)
Short term plans:
Re-draw Garden with new plan (maybe not necessary for smaller parts)
Herb plants at door
Flower bed at door
Mow Lawn

Here's a list of what was bought:
- Strawberry's (mmmmmmmmmm)
- Tomatoes
- Cabbage
- Lettuce
- Rosemary

- Chillis
- Coriander
- Squash (pumpkins and butternut)

Bill showed me how to plant before heading off to plant his own stuff. Here's the process:
- Use a stick to make a hole
- Fill it with water
- Gently take the plants out of their containers and place them into the hole
- Firmly put soil back around the plant
- Place some slug pellets next to the plants so they don't get eaten :D
- Plant about 30-40 cm's apart (recommendations are provided when you buy the plants)
I'll also need to add some netting to protect the strawberry's from the birds once they grow a bit taller.
